Cat Feeding Calculator
The Cat Feeding Calculator helps you answer a deceptively simple question every cat owner faces: how much should I actually feed my cat? It turns your cat’s weight, age, and goal into clear daily portions — no guesswork, no overfeeding.
Built on the same energy formulas veterinary teams use, presented in plain language for everyday owners.
How It WorksEnter your cat’s weight and pick a life stage. Choose whether you’re maintaining, losing, or gaining weight. Select a food — or add your own from the label. The calculator does the math and gives you exact daily portions plus a simple feeding schedule.
No more guessing at the bag’s vague chart. No more silent overfeeding. No more one-size-fits-all.
Key FeaturesDaily energy is calculated with the standard Resting Energy Requirement (RER = 70 × kg⁰·⁷⁵) and life-stage maintenance factors used in veterinary nutrition — kitten, adult, senior, pregnant, and nursing.
Maintaining, losing, or gaining weight? Calories are based on your cat’s target weight, not just today’s — the right way to plan a safe, gradual change.
Feed however you feed. Choose dry only, wet only, or a custom mix — slide to set the exact calorie split between wet and dry, and get grams for each.
Pick how many meals per day and the calculator lays out a clear schedule with portion size for each meal — wet in the morning and evening, dry through the day.
Start from a hand-picked list of quality foods, or add any brand from your own bag or can — just enter the calories per 100 g from the label for a precise result.
The calculator reserves the vet-recommended 10% treat budget and shows you exactly how many treat calories that is — so snacks don’t quietly derail the plan.
Cats have a low thirst drive. The tool flags when extra water matters most — like dry-only feeding — with gentle, science-based reminders.
Switch lb/kg, pick a light or dark theme, and keep your cat’s profile saved on your device. No account, no sign-up, works without a connection.

Using the Cat Feeding Calculator
From your cat’s weight to a daily feeding plan in five simple steps. No accounts, no math, no guesswork.
Tell us about your cat
Enter your cat’s current weight and switch between lb and kg as you like. Pick a life stage — kitten, adult, senior, pregnant, or nursing — and note whether your cat is spayed/neutered and how active they are.
Set the goal
Choose Maintain Lose or Gain. If you’re aiming for weight change, enter the target (ideal) weight — the calculator bases calories on that, which is the safe, vet-recommended way to plan a gradual change.
Choose the food
Select dry, wet, or mixed feeding. Pick a food from the curated list, or add your own under Settings by entering the calories per 100 g from the label. For mixed feeding, slide to set the exact split between wet and dry.
Set meals per day
Tell the calculator how many times a day you feed — 2, 3, 4, or 5 meals. It divides the daily portion across those meals and builds a clear schedule with the grams for each one.
Get your plan
Tap Calculate Plan and you’ll see daily calories, portion sizes in grams for each food, a feeding schedule, and your treat allowance. Re-weigh your cat every few weeks and adjust as needed.
These numbers are a healthy-cat starting point built on standard veterinary energy formulas — individual cats can vary by up to ~30%.
